The music industry was not one that I would consider feminine, therefore, embracing the new definition of femininity can be a huge challenge. The notion that I can be feminine, strong and soft, and still be able to take care of myself and not be a burden to others, was an uphill task for me. It was something that I appreciated greatly. I was in love with wearing heels to work as well as the soft material. There was pressure because I'm an older actor than the rest of the actors involved in Fantastic Beasts. However, I was struck by this odd feeling during the auditions that there was a massive force behind me; I could either get smashed underneath the weight and break down due to how badly I hoped to get it and how huge this seemed as well as climb up on to the top of it and let it push me upwards. I could spend the whole day wandering around, visiting museums in parks, coffee shops and even the parks as well as just watching individuals. In LA there is a possibility of being lonely, however in London you can take the Tube and find yourself in the thick of humanity as well as every other type of human who you imagine will be going through. I like watching people. Being from the world of music, I'm constantly surrounded with males. It's like being with men is intimate. The books were a wish that came true for me. It was a pleasure to be able to read the novels while traveling. The cities are constantly shifting which can make it difficult to focus. But to retreat into such an intense immersive, vibrant universe from your bunk is really wonderful. Alison Alison Alison
